Singer-songwriter-producer Sona Mohapatra on Monday released a brand new monitor titled ‘Rang De’. The monitor, composed by her husband Ram Sampath to Meera Bai’s poetry, is from her recently-released OTT film ‘Shut Up Sona’.

The music video is shot within the underbelly of Paris with avenue artwork that showcases nice feminine icons, from Edith Piaf to Frieda Kahlo.

Commenting on the event, Sona Mohapatra spoke about the way it was only in her teenage years that she actually bought to know about Meera Bai and her philosophy, thereby breaking the picture that she had in her thoughts about the feminine poet in her childhood.

The singer stated, “As a toddler, I discovered the imagery of Meera Bai to be very docile and subsequently miserable. I principally bought to see visuals of her carrying white, sitting inside 4 partitions with a tamboora, her devotion bordering on servility whereas her riot wasn’t actually highlighted.”

Sona Mohapatra added, “It was only in my later teenagers that I started exploring extra of her life and instances. She wrote about sensuality and need amongst different taboo subjects too. Grandson of a legendary lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri,Aadil Jaipuri ,who has worked as a child actor ,is now a matured actor and making his debut with a music video with Wild Buffaloes music.The romantic song is called Sajjan, sung by Ankit Tiwari.

Aadil Jaipuri lived his passion for acting ever since he was young. ‘Do Aankhen baara haath’, ‘Laawaaris’, ‘Hadh’ and TV shows like ‘Zindagi Teri meri Kahani’, ‘Saamnewali Khidki Mein’, ‘Shhh … Koi hai’, ‘Aangan’, ‘Kaise kahoon’, etc are projects he has worked in. Aadil is the grandson of legendary lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri who has penned evergreen songs like, ‘Badan pe sitare lapete hue’, ‘Zindagi ek Safar Hai Suhana’, ‘Jaane Kahan gaye woh din’, ‘Sun sahiba sun’, ‘Baharon Phool barsaao mera Mehboob aaya Hai’ and many more.

Over the years, Aadil trained himself in dance and worked on his body focusing on strength and aesthetics. Recently, his music video with Wild Buffaloes Music, a new music label, that released its romantic song, ‘Saajan’, sung by Ankit Tiwari, was launched in front of the media and received a lot of positive response.

“Shying away from hard work is something that was never wired in me and I am glad that it wasn’t. When Divyansh, the director of my music video told me that he required me to cut down muscle mass and get leaner, I was like man, this is going to be a ride. Because the shoot was coming up in like 20 days and I had to cut roughly 7kgs. However, I knew one thing, what has to be done, has to be done and I achieved it”, said Aadil.

The music video, set in an apocalyptic world of a Zombie rampage, showcased Aadil and his on screen love interest, Kashika Kapoor as two passionate lovers and trained dancers, amongst whom, Kashika is infected by the virus that will turn her into a zombie any moment. Aadil’s last wish is to dance with her one last time. “Despite being a trained dancer, when I heard the concept from Divyansh, I knew this will be

challenging because this was not just a dance sequence but I also had to emote my pain of losing my love to a virus and yet dance my heart out with her. It was a complete package and a brilliant concept to showcase my talent and honestly, Divyansh’s clarity and Kashika’s performance were two big supports”, expressed Aadil.

Shubhankar Jadhav, the choreographer and the editor of this music video designed the dance moves keeping their emotions and pain in mind and Aadil and Kashika have done a brilliant job in performing them rightly. When asked about his experience of working with Aadil, Shubhankar said, “Seeing Aadil bhai cut down was a treat for me. He is so hardworking that I was free in my head when I thought of certain steps that would require him to express the right emotions and dance along with them.”

When Divyansh was asked about his thought behind casting Aadil for this music video, he said, “What more would I want in an artist, when he is brilliant with his performance as an actor, dances well and knows how to blend emotions and dance together. In addition I wanted an aesthetically fit artist and having known Aadil since ever, I knew he will give his all to bring me the look I wanted. Also, it’s a treat directing him for he exactly gives me what I want.” He further added, “It was so satisfying to hear from Aadil when he told me that what he achieved physically wasn’t his best and that he could have been a lot better but the crunch of time didn’t give him the chance to do so. However, wait for a few more months and you will see him at his ‘lean muscular’ best.”

Aadil is all pumped up for his debut and preparing up to return to big screen. His music video is available on the Wild Buffaloes Music YouTube channel and the song is out on music streaming platforms.

Actor Randeep Hooda, is set to bring an intense and authentic story from Punjab with his upcoming crime thriller series ‘Cat’. This will be Randeep’s second venture in the streaming space after ‘Extraction,’ in which he shared the screen with Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth.

The trailer of the series was unveiled on Friday and it shows Randeep’s character of Gurnam Singh, a simpleton, who is compelled to infiltrate the drug cartels of Punjab as he works for the police in a bid to save his brother.

While Gurnaam is not new to this, the stakes are high, this time around. He finds himself plunged into the dark world of politics, corruption, and crime. The trailer is laced with drama, gore, and thrill and brings together the world of Punjab’s underbelly, politics, police, and drug lords.

Commenting on the occasion of the trailer release, Randeep Hooda said: “Gurnaam Singh is fierce yet calm, he is strong yet fragile and while you will find familiarity with this character, you will not be able to guess his next move. I am thoroughly excited with ‘Cat’ and that Balli (Balwinder Singh Janjua, the creator) has brought authenticity and genuineness to each and every scene.”

Created and helmed by filmmaker Balwinder Singh Janjua, the series goes beyond the romanticised version of Punjab and puts forth a story of a brother’s love, remission and espionage.

Speaking about his foray into a direction, creator Balwinder Singh Janjua shares, “‘Cat’ is a very unique story and I am glad we could collaborate with Netflix to bring this story to life. As a writer and director, I will define ‘Cat’ as a story of relationships – be it family, friendship or deceit! It’s a story set in Punjab and explores two timelines as well as the underbelly and its complexities through well-defined characters.”

“We’ve shot in over 80 locations across Punjab to bring authenticity and flavour to the fore. Working on ‘Cat’ has been a rewarding journey and I can’t wait for the audience to experience it,” he added.

Along with Randeep Hooda, the series stars phenomenal actors such as Suvinder Vicky, Hasleen Kaur, Geeta Aggarwal, Dakssh Ajit Singh, Sukhwinder Chahal, K.P. Singh, Kavya Thapar, Danish Sood and Pramod Pathal.

Produced by Movie Tunnel Productions in association with Jelly Bean Entertainment, ‘Cat’ will debut on Netflix on December 9 in Punjabi, Hindi and English.

High-powered girl group XG has come out with a new rap video featuring their four members. On Friday, a video entitled ‘[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER (Jurin, Harvey, Maya and Cocona)’ was posted to YouTube.

The video features individual performances from XG’s rappers: Jurin, Harvey, Maya and Cocona, with each of their own different beats and original lyrics.

The video will feature four samples, containing lyrics in English, Japanese and Korean – all in an unrivaled performance that is uniquely XG.

XG are a seven-member HipHop/R&B girl group consisting of Jurin, Chisa, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Maya and Cocona.

They made waves worldwide with their second single ‘MASCARA’. Last month, XG released solo vocal performances by Chisa, Juria and Hinata receiving huge acclaim worldwide.
